Have you been thinking about expanding your family? Have your kids been asking for a dog? Or do you have the heart to help animals in need?
The Kent County Animal Shelter is hosting a special adoption event where you can adopt an adult dog at the Animal Shelter for only $25 until April 16th.
It's important to adopt animals from our local animal shelters if your family has the capability. Many people desire to buy puppies instead of adopting adult dogs because of different fears and concerns. But, many people do not consider the amount of work and time it takes to care for a puppy. Especially when you work, have children, curricular activities, love to travel, etc. When things get tough or do not work out as planned, it adds to the existing problem of overpopulation in our shelters.
If you are one of the three people I described above, please don't eliminate adopting as one of your options. I encourage you to visit the Kent County Animal Shelter and visit the animals that need a home. Visiting the shelter does not commit you to anything.
